The Accident (CHAPTER 3)

The Accident
Written by Adrianne Aguilar

~*~

“Well, in the usual case we don’t. But it’s a bit bare in here with its boring green and white walls. A touch of color wouldn’t hurt?” as Dr. Nina Ricafuente approved Mickey’s move.

Without a doubt it was a splash of color. It happens to be that Michael Sy was also an artist, he is into abstract art. And he has brought his best pieces so that he could hang it on David’s room. It did give new life to the room, the bright reds, blues, and hues of orange and yellow in contrast to the white and green hospital walls. Now the mood of the room shifted from a weary to a very warm and inviting place.

“When and what make you decided to…” Chester was not yet through with his question when Mickey answered in an instant.

“Well, just before my 2pm class. I just went home and went straight to my studio. I do have like quite a number of art pieces just scattered around my place and it just collects dusts. So I decided to bring like a couple of my pieces here. Well it was originally  two, then I went to four, then five, then six, it ended up to eight… because the ninth one was so enormous, I left it in my car…” and Michael was just smiling.

“And you actually have a ninth one?” Chester Ylano was now scratching his head.

“Is it the enormous one with big bold stripes of yellow and red?” Aunt Nina had butt in.

“Yes, would you like to have it Nana?” Mickey asked his aunt.

“Of course I would like to have it… I already saw that in your studio at your house and loved it from the very first time I saw it, I would love to hang it on my dining room, it is in good contrast with my deep blue walls” and Aunt Nana’s eyes are now sparkling.

“Then it is all yours Nana… I’ll put it in your car later.” Mickey’s attention shifted to David. He noticed a different glow on David’s face. It is now gleaming and at the same time very calming.
And after a while he notice picture frames on David’s side table. He didn’t noticed those awhile ago because of the bouquets of flowers that fill most of the table and plus the fact that he was still busy with his paintings.

“Pictures? I thought he didn’t have any family?” Michael was a bit puzzled.

“Yeah tita, I thought David was an orphaned man?” Chester said to Dr. Ricafuente.

“I thought that you already knew, remember just this morning Michael? There were like three people to whom we passed by, and I had given them a short talk?” Aunt Nana reminded Mickey about those people that they had passed by that morning.

“Yes, they were carrying a box and some flowers. So who are they Nana? And what are they doing here?” Mickey now is a bit curious.

“They are visiting friends and colleagues. And the tallest man among the three was his boss who is checking on him. He usually visits here every other day.” The doctor answered.

“I presume these are David’s things from his office.” Chester concluded.
Then from nowhere, Michael received a message. It was from El Capitan Jason Helguera. They would be having again a basketball practice tonight.

“So are you going?” Chester asked his buddy.

“And why isn’t he going Chester? Is there something that I am missing here?” Aunt Nana wondered.

“Of course I am going… Everything is doing fine at basketball practice Nana…” Mickey answered in a sarcastic and exaggerated tone.

“That’s good to hear. Anyways, I have to leave you both now. I should be making rounds by this time. Patients are not usually patient, if you do know what I mean.” Then Dra. Ricafuente left the room laughing.

“Your tita talaga. She is such a bundle of joy. So dude, catch you later. Dadaan lang ako ng Mall of Asia. I’ll be meeting someone.” Chester explained to Michael.

Uyy… Bago yun ha… You’re now dating? Kung hindi lang Pol. Scie. ang kinukuha mo, I could be thinking that you’ll be in the seminary by now.” Mickey was happy with what Chester has told him.

Hindi naman. I’m just meeting a friend.” Chester told Michael defensively.

“Okay, okay. Sya… Baka mahuli ka pa sa date mo. Hehehe.” He was almost pushing Chester to go, of course he was just kidding.

Sige, I’ll just see you later at basketball practice dude.” Then Chester left David’s hospital room for his supposed meet-up.

Then there were just Michael and David. Two weary souls now alone in one room. One soul is nowhere to go to, uncertain, if he’ll live and let live and another was a soul of a very distraught man. But now it seems that everything is now falling into place. As if Michael has found a new mission in his life. He has a new vision and a new beginning. He does know that it would not be a very smooth path to go through, but he is more than willing to take the risk.

Mickey then held again David’s unconscious hand, and again and again, he did felt the reassuring warmth of this total stranger. He does have this feeling as if that everything would be okay when he does hold David’s hands.

“I am perfectly sure that you’ll be fine, that you’ll be great in due time, I do know that you’ll recover. And I do know that someday, we’ll get the chance to talk to each other. I’ll be back again good friend, my quiescent confidant.” And then Michael left his room with this big smile. As if the feeling is lighter, and much better.

On the other hand when Michael Sy was about to leave the hospital doors, David’s superior Allen Marciano and another colleague of his Adam De Leon were there to have a quick visit. They immediately went to David’s room. Allen was carrying a basket of fruits while Adam was carrying David’s corkboard from work. From the time since the “accident” occurred until this morning. That corkboard was filled with messages and prayers from co-workers on his firm.

“Hey Allen… Why bring fruits? There is no way David could eat those?” Adam asked his boss/ best buddy Allen.

“You see… The family of the man who happened to be the one liable for the accident is gracious enough to shoulder all the medical bills and expenses.”

“I see, that is why David has that very spacious hospital room…” Adam then concluded.

“Yeah, that is indeed right… Buti naman at naisip mo yun’” and they both ended up laughing.
Upon entering the room, the two was astonished with what they saw.

“Are you sure that we are in the right room?” Adam told Allen.

“Yes, this is room 602 and that is David on the bed, am I right?”  The boss told his subordinate.
Then both of them went inside. Adam has put the basket of fruits on the small dining table at the corner of the hospital room. While Allen went straight ahead on the hanging works of art that make the two of them in awe.

“This are rather good, these paintings are really exquisite. Look at the details and the style. It may be busy but it has a very calming effect when you look at it very closely” Allen was indeed impressed with the workmanship of the paintings hanged on the wall. He did work in an art gallery five years ago, that is why he does really know the ins and outs of what is a work of art compared from a cheap imitation. This is clearly an original.

“All I can say is that I really love the river of colors. It deciphers life.” Adam said to Allen.

“Well said Adam. I didn’t think in my whole lifetime that you would really make sense and utter those words.” And the two ended up again laughing.

“But who actually brought all of this here?” the subordinate wondered.

“Well with the style of the paintings it seems that it is only done by one artist” and then Allen checked the signature mark on the painting. “M. Sy, Hmm… If am not mistaken, Michael Sy was the name of the…” then someone went inside the room instantly. Adam and Allen were startled.

“Oh I am very sorry. It was rude for me to just go inside without knocking. I am Michael Sy by the way. I just left my car key.” And the two were in awe especially Adam, who is about to give Mickey handshake.
And Allen had butt in, “this Adam De Leon and I am Allen Marciano, we are both David’s co-workers” and he shook Mickey’s hand too.

“I see, nice meeting the two of you, by the way thank you for always visiting your colleague and friend David. I must be going now. I’ll be late for today’s basketball practice. And besides, I might be meddling with your visit.” Mickey said.

“Not really, we are about to leave when you had just arrived. We just went here to have a quick visit. We are about to meet a client in Manila after this.” Allen explained to Mickey.

“Is that it…? Hmmm… I am also bound to Manila. I suggest that I could give you both a ride. Anyways it is just on my way.” as Michael graciously invited the two.

“Yes, that would be a great idea!” from nowhere Adam reacted. He was much into this tall jock in front of him.

“Ssshh… Of course he is just kidding, thank you Mr. Sy but I think we can both manage to go on our own. But we do really appreciate your invite.” Allen politely refused.

“Don’t worry, it is perfectly fine with me and I wouldn’t take no for an answer, most especially that you are both David’s closest colleagues.” Mickey insisted.

Sige na…” Adam whispered as he pleaded Allen.

Sige na nga… Okay, anyways thank you very much Mr. Sy for the very generous offer.” Allen told the basketball jock.

Michael then took his car key on the side table, approached David, and he caressed his hands. Allen and

Adam wondered and were a bit surprised at the same time bewildered, and they both stared at each other.
Then the two of them whispered to David their goodbyes.
Adam told David, “In fairness sis. He is cute ha, and what’s with the hand caressing?” and then Adam smirked.

“Hey Adam, anu ba yang binubulong mo, nakakahiya kay Mr. Sy. We should be going by now.” Allen told his subordinate.

“You could just call me Michael, or just Mickey, as my friends calls me by that name. Mr. Sy is a bit formal.” The basketball jock suggested.

“I see, Mickey” and Adam was giggling. As if “kini-kilig”.

The three of them left the hospital. Allen seated in the front with Mickey as he drives while Adam was in the back of the SUV. After about several minutes, they were in Vito Cruz, waiting for the traffic light to go green. They were headed to the Hyatt Hotel and Casino Manila, to meet one of their clients. The three were very quiet. So Adam started the conversation.

“You are a collegiate sports jock right? Ahh I remember, Allen did attended the same school as yours… Am I right Allen?” Adam said.

“Yes, but that was like 10 years ago… and besides I shifted to another course and I decided to transfer to another school” Allen explained.

“Oh I see… Hmm… So how about David? How long are you friends with him? That is if you don’t mind me asking questions…” suddenly Mickey had an interest in knowing more about him. The traffic lights signaled go, and he already started driving.

“Of course we don’t mind. You see I am just new with the company that I am working with, so technically I do know David just like barely 6 months or so. But hell… we do really treasure our friendship. He is so approachable as well as friendly, and there are times he’s very vulnerable, and he has these sentimental moments, well we actually all do…” Adam got carried away with his answer that Allen got worried.

“Hey Adam…” and the boss gave his chatty subordinate a mockingly stare.

Eh totoo naman eh?” Adam reacted and did shut himself up like an upset child.

Pag-pasensyahan mo na yang kasama ko Michael.” Allen asked the jock for an apology.
Mickey just then laugh, “Well somehow, Adam is right, every one of us do have our own “senti” moments. Nasasa atin na lang on how we confront those kinds of moments. Hey anyways, how about you Allen, how long did you already know David?” Mickey asked Allen. Before the latter could even answer the question

Adam had already butted in.

Sabi ko sayo eh, tama ako… Mickey even agreed with me. Oh, nasa Pedro Gil na pala tayo, ayan na ung tower ng Hyatt Hotel.”  Adam said.

“Adam… Yes I could see it. You don’t have to reiterate it.” Allen reacted that he forgot to answer Mickey’s question.

“Hahaha…” Mickey just ended up laughing.

Then Allen’s phone rang. It was from their client, Mr. Smith.

“Adam, just get this call. I do have to thank Mr. Sy for the ride.” And he handed his mobile phone to Adam.

Their car stopped in front of the hotel lobby. Adam said his thanks and answered the phone.

“Thank you Mickey… Hello, Good Afternoon Mr. Smith, yes we are now in the hotel lobby. I see, so we shall meet at the Market Café” and Adam headed to the hotel door. Meanwhile Allen thanked Mr. Sy personally.

“Thank you Michael. Thank you for the ride as well as giving good assistance to our friend David. Pag-pasensyahan nyo na rin un si Adam” Allen said to Mickey.

Wala yun’ it is okay. It has been a long while since someone made me laugh that much. And about David, ako nga dapat ang humingi ng paumanhin sa inyo dahil sa nagawa ko sa kanya.” Mickey said in a sober tone.

“Nope, you don’t have to be sorry. It is just an accident. Walang may gusto na mangyari yun. Again Mr. Sy, Thank you!” Allen comforted Michael.

Walang anuman, sabi ko sayo Michael na lang… I hope I could catch you again next time. I must be going now…” and Michael left the hotel vicinity.

Allen went after Adam inside the hotel lobby.

Ikaw talaga, what is it with you, bakit ganun ka kay Mr. Sy?” Allen told Adam.

Si Mickey? Eh he is very casual eh, and he is very uber cute. At ang tangkad pa.” as if Adam was in heaven.

“Close na kayo ha? Bahala ka nga…” Allen said to his colleague. And they both went to the Market Café to meet Mr. Smith.

The call time for that day’s practice was 6pm. It was just one week away before the UAAP season starts. That night was scheduled to be a surprise open to the crowd basketball practice face-off between the ADLU basketball team members. They were quite bewildered with what the coach has decided, but when Mickey heard about it he knew from the very start that Mr. Leon Fernandez is cooking up something for him and his bitter rival Joshua “Jech-jech” Prado. The anticipation was there with the crowd. This is the very first time that there would be students watching them on a basketball practice game, for the reason that their practices are usually done behind close doors. Then again the whole basketball team was there except for Mr. Blacksheep Joshua Prado. After waiting for him at about 10 minutes, he already came, surprisingly with someone very much unexpected.

“Coach Fernandez, in behalf of the whole cheerleading team, we are very sorry if Mr. Prado came into practice late at your usual call time… You see sir, our ride got a very rough problem and if not for Mr. Prado we would not be here to support the whole team” as that sweet sounding voice pierced Michael Sy’s ears. It was Anika Marie Ang. Head of the school cheerleading team the Silver Belles. His ex-girlfriend, now defending Mr. Joshua Prado. Mickey’s jaw dropped, he can’t even react.

“Is that what really happened, Mr. Prado?” coach Leon asked Joshua. He’s a bit skeptical with the said alibi, but somehow he cannot contest it. Having Anika there to defend him, who happens to be at the same time the President of the Supreme Student Council.

“Yes, yes coach… I guess that would be it.” Prado answered in a very low key voice. He couldn’t even look straight at the coach’s eyes.

“Anyways, thank you Ms. Ang for giving your most valuable time. We shall see you and the other girls on the court. And Mr. Prado please, have a sit so that I could now give the briefing to the whole team for tonight’s practice game.” Mr. Leon Fernandez said.

“You are most welcome Coach Fernandez. And by the way I should be the one who should be thanking this very nice knight and shining armor…” and Anika gave Joshua a kiss on his cheeks and left. He was in cloud nine. He then gave this smirk to Michael Sy as if he’s giving again a deliberate attack on him. Of course Mickey didn’t react. He isn’t Anika’s boyfriend anymore. But the whole basketball team was still awestruck with the said scene.

“Okay guys, ever since that I was the coach of this team, way back eight years ago, you do know what my game plan is right?” Mr. Fernandez has said to the guys.

“Yes coach…” the team answered in a group.

“In order to be victorious, we should be low key, mysterious, humble… That is why I always do our practices in close doors. And I’ve said maybe it is about time to put the whole team outside your usual box, to be out of your usual shell. That is why I’ve decided to open the practices to the public.” And the coach gave each of the players a serious stare.

The whole team is still bewildered with the coach’s decision, but they have put on their whole trust on him.

“So what’s with the sudden change of mind Leon?” assistant coach, Mr. Bong Aguila whispered to his colleague.

“You’ll see what I mean.” Mr. Fernandez answered.
So Mr. Fernandez then handed the roster to Mr. Aguila for tonight’s practice game. And then he did start to read it to the team.

11
Roda, Jose Miguel “JM”
Power Forward
6’3”

“I guess my hunch was right after all… He wouldn’t be playing tonight.” Mr. Blacksheep is very well confident with himself. As the team waited for the last player…

8
Agaton, AJ
Small Forward
6’4

The whole team was surprised. Joshua and Michael were not chosen for tonight’s game. This was also a shock to Prado as he is expecting that at least one of them was playing for tonight, and that is he. Michael Sy didn’t even mind for he already anticipated that this would certainly happen.

“Coach? Is this punishment for what had just happened?” Joshua asked Mr. Fernandez in a reluctant manner.

Then the coach answered “Don’t be dismayed Jechs. You reap what you sow and you’ll see later tonight what I mean with all of this.” And then he continued.

“JM Roda, for the mean time you’ll be the point guard and you Mr. Agaton you’ll be tonight’s shooting guard for the blue team, is everything clear now ?” as Mr. Fernandez asked the Quicksilvers.

“Yes coach…” again the team answered collectively.

On that very moment you’ll still see the upset and dismay on Joshua Prado’s face, but he can’t do anything about it. Mr. Fernandez approached him.

“Prado… Come let’s play the game.” As he encouraged Joshua to the hard court.

The anticipation was there, they could hear the roaring sound of the students whose waiting for this very moment. But the crowd was a bit baffled when they saw the scene. That two of their best players weren’t playing that night. There were mixed emotions when the lineup was announced.

One guy said, “Joshua Prado isn’t playing, and what about Mickey Sy? Is he still injured or something?”

“Why isn’t my crush Michael playing? I am lookin’ forward pa naman to see his game tonight.” Said another girl.

“Well, I am not bothered. As long as my boyfriend Marthy is playing, well there isn’t any problem with me. By the way Marthy mentioned it to me that Michael and Joshua had a brawl, days ago. Maybe that’s why they aren’t playing tonight.” as Teresa gossiped it to her best friend who is just beside her. It happens to be that one of the cheerleaders overheard their conversation. She went straight to Anika.

“Have you heard anything from Coach Fernandez about any punishments?” as Karla asked the bewildered Anika.

“How should I know, Michael isn’t my boyfriend anymore and as for Joshua, we just started dating right?” as Anika tried to figure on what was really happening.

The tension and the excitement are replaced by bewilderment and confusion. And later as the game did start, the whole crowd was just plain. They don’t actually know if they would be dismayed or what.

The game was tight though, both teams are almost tied up. The white team was just behind the blue team by just two points. It was indeed an awesome game. But the students don’t seem to care. Some are enthusiastic to participate in the cheering, but it is only a handful of people. The crowd was a bit dry for a very much awaited game.

And the “Half-time Break” came.

The White team went to the assistant coach, for they were handled by Mr. Aguila that night and the Blue team went to Coach Leon Fernandez.

“Well done Blue team, you’ve done a great job! So Mr. Roda and Mr. Agaton had already improved. Your stamina was indeed great Mr. Agaton, that’s nice. And you JM, I think that you are more flexible now. But I advice that you should practice more on your lay-up.” As Mr. Fernandez gave the two some remarks.

“Thanks coach…” JM Roda answered.

The coach had noticed that Mr. AJ Agaton was already exhausted with the first half of the game, for he is gasping for air that hard. He then thought that this was the exact time to execute his plan.

“Mr. Agaton, I suggest that you should take a rest for the next half.” Mr. Fernandez said. The crowd was mystified as AJ Agaton went inside the men’s locker room. The game is about to start. Coach Leon then called Mr. Joshua “Jech-jech” Prado. The buzz inside the court ignited again.

“Joshua, you’ll replace AJ Agaton, you’ll play the shooting guard for tonight’s second half.” As coach Fernandez delivered the good news to him.

He was in paradise when he heard this, he was jumping and jumping. At the back of his mind, he was the one playing and not Michael Sy. Anika then saw Joshua’s reaction and she went running into him.

“I would be playing now…” and then Anika started kissing Mr. Prado. Another awkward moment for the whole team, but Mickey doesn’t seem to mind. Then the coach went back to Mr. JM Roda.

“JM, go with Mr. Agaton, I had some energy drinks in my office. You’ll stay up late for a one-on-one practice tonight.” And the basketball jock followed the coach’s request. And then came the next news…

“Mr. Sy, you’ll be playing for the Blue team’s point guard, along side Prado.” As the Coach told Mickey.

“What?” As Mr. Black Sheep reacted.

“Are there any objections, Mr. Prado?” and Jechs had this fiery stare from the coach.

Ah eh, wala po…” and Mr. Prado answered.

The crowd roared when they saw Joshua Prado making some warm up exercises. And then Mickey followed. The anticipation was back again, most especially now that the gossip about the fight of the two ace jocks is now spreading like wildfire.

“Hmmm… Maybe the two would be split up into the two teams, Joshua would be on the White team and Michael on the Blue team.” as one of the girls at the bench theorized.

“I doubt na pagsamahin yang dalawang yan’. Kung alam mo lang kung paano sinapak ni Michael si Joshua.” Marthy’s girlfriend Teresa told her best gal pal.

“This game is surely interesting now both players are in… Plus the fact that they are both hot…” as the sports columnist for the school’s paper commented.

Tumigil ka nga dyan baklang Adoracion, este Ador pala…” as the Editor-In-Chief Marian mocked the gay guy.

Both Mickey and Joshua went inside the men’s locker room to change. The students inside the court were now cheering because of the excitement while Anika went straight to her fellow cheering squad.

“Formation Girls, the real game is about to start.” As she ordered the Silver Belles.

“What happened Anika? Now both of them are now about to play?” as Janna, one of the Silver Belles asked their leader.

“Well, you’re just about to know now.” Anika answered, as the two ace jocks emerged from the doors of their locker rooms. Both Joshua Prado and Mickey Sy were wearing Blue practice game jerseys. Almost the whole gymnasium became quiet when they see the two men, they have realized, that the two were playing hand in hand.

“So Silver Belles, are you ready?” as Anika started the chant for their cheer.
“Who are you rooting for?” and they continued… “Go Quicksilvers Go!”
“What are you here for?” … “Go Quicksilvers Go!”
“What are you waiting for?”… “Go Quicksilvers Go!”
“Their hunky, their nice, their out to win this fight, Go Go Quicksilvers, Go go, Quicksilvers! Go go!” and the crowd went wild when the Silver Belles heated up the hard court with their dance routine.

On the other hand Coach Leon called upon the attention of the two players, Michael and Joshua.

“One word guys, FOCUS” and he gave them two taps on their heads.

The game that once started to be “so-so” was stirred into a pandemonium of excitement.

And so the much awaited game did started.

The possession of the first ball for the second half went to the Blue team. Drake Parker had it and he had made a pass to Joshua Prado, the crowd cheered for him and they knew that somehow Michael was open to have a ball pass from Prado. But instead he made it on his own terms. He went into shooting position, but when he is about to make the shot. Chester Ylano from the White team had made a steal, and went for a three-pointer shot. Now the White team was ahead by one point.

Anu ba yun? What was he thinkin’? Open si Sy, Why did he make that shot?” one student reacted.

“Hmm… Sayang, it’s the first time this semester na makikita ko na sana ang shot ng crush kong si Mickey…” another student reacted.

Basta cute pa rin si Prado.” The school’s sports columnist Ador commented.

Ang tanong, patulan ka kaya niya?” his editor-in-chief reacted.

There were many questions playing on the students of ADLU. Let us say that the chemistry of the two players does not mix with each other on that time, that there is this wide gap between the two. Mishaps and errors were redundantly made and the students of ADLU weren’t that pleased. There was a time when they were about to collide to each other, Thank God, Chester from the other team got the ball or else, it could have caused injuries for both Prado and Sy.

So coach Leon made a time out after about ten minutes of playing. He was giving important instructions but Joshua Prado seemed not to care as he talk about Anika Marie Ang with his fellow players Raffy Chua and Drake Parker.

Mga pare, hindi ako na late kanina dahil sa tinulungan ko sina Anika. Actually it was the other way around. She invited me over to ride on her car. Well, in the end I just find myself kissing her. She’s so damn hot, and she’s really a handful.” As Mr. Blacksheep gossips his encounter with Ms. Home Coming Queen. What he doesn’t know is that he was over heard by Mickey, and he wasn’t please with what he heard. Coach Leon was also distracted that he got Joshua’s attention.

“Care to share your story Mr. Prado?” coach Leon asked.

“Nothing much Coach. I was just discussing the pointers that you made.” Prado said in defense.

“Well then… Shall we continue the game?” as the fired up coach told his team.

Well coach Leon might be fired up, but Prado and Sy weren’t. They we’re the weakest link on that night’s game.

Leon, what’s wrong with those two? They don’t play like this before. I do somehow feel that Prado has issues with Sy even way in the past. But I didn’t know that it had became worse now that even their performance is greatly affected” Assistant Coach Bong Aguila told Mr. Fernandez.

“Well, I’ve already had this feeling that this would happen and it did happen. At least we already knew it even before the season starts. We could fix things up way before the actual elimination games begin.” Coach Leon concluded.

“Well you do need to think how to fix this.” Mr. Aguila said.

“At least I think I already have proved my point. Now they both know that they are not gods of the court. And all they needed is teamwork. That is the very ingredient that brought us to two consecutive championship wins on past years. Kung hindi we’ll just find ourselves at the back of the pack, if we’ll have a shitty game like this when the season starts.” Coach Leon explained to Mr. Aguila.

So the grueling game ended, the White team emerged victorious with an eighteen point lead against the Blue team even if Prado and Sy were there playing. The ADLU students were quite disappointed with the outcome of the said anticipated practice game, that they felt that it wasn’t yet an assurance that they would get into their third win in the championships, even if both men played for the team.

“Hey Jechs, What happened to your game pare? I was watching you over. Something was terribly wrong with your game… Sayang naman yun’ lead natin kanina” as AJ Agaton told Joshua Prado.

“Leave me alone AJ… I’m not in the mood in talking with anyone.” as Jech-jech answered with a defeated voice as he headed away from the team. El Capitan Jason Helguera overheard this.

Hayaan mo muna sya AJ. Anyways it was really a nice game. You and JM had made such great techniques and even made quite a number of scores” as El Capitan commended AJ Agaton.

On the other hand, Mickey was on his way out of the gymnasium when he saw his ex-girlfriend Anika just passing by in front of him hurriedly catching up with Prado. He then called up her name but she ignored him. Mickey grabbed her by her arm and he said…

“We needed to talk. He is trashing on you.” As Michael whispered to Anika.

“We’re through Mickey. Move-on.” She was very much not pleased with Mickey’s concern.

“This is not about me. This is about you…” he still wasn’t letting go of Anika’s arms.

“Do you even hear yourself? Have some dignity or even just a bit of self-respect. Let me go!” and she tried to shove Mickey out of her way and give him a slap on his face.
Some of the students saw the incident including the campus’ gay sports columnist Ador and some of the Silver Belle Members.

“You deserve that, loser!” cheerleader Janna told Mickey.

“Now there is drama in sports…” Ador said in excitement as he hurriedly went into his Editor-in-Chief. Now we do all know that it would end up on the school’s newspaper. Meanwhile Chester Ylano also saw the said scene. He went into his comrade’s aid.
